For those of you that may have accidentally come across this website while surfing the net, let us tell you a little about us. We are a friendly  small Amateur Radio club in central Ohio called the "Central Ohio Operators Klub Extra - Novice" or COOKEN.

Yes , we need to take spelling lessons but maybe that helps define our loose and informal club philosophy. All our members wanted a low key club to share our enthusiasm of the amateur radio hobby and thus COOKEN was born.

It was founded by our trustee and charter president Fritz Tender, WD8E. Amateur Radio is a fascinating hobby and recent changes in the FCC licensing structure make entry and upgrades easier than ever.

See the link to our national ham organization http://www.arrl.org for more info on the hobby and how much fun it can be. All COOKEN members welcome new hams or hams wanting to get active again.
